We are proud to announce that the building permit for the National Concert Hall project has been issued, marking the completion of one of the most complex phases in the development of this landmark project. This is arguably one of the most architecturally and technologically ambitious projects in Serbia in decades.

As local partners to the renowned studio AL_A (Amanda Levete Architects), the Zabriskie team has demonstrated throughout this process that world-class architecture is measured not only by aesthetics but by procedural precision and the ability to translate complex visions into feasible reality. We are proud to have been part of this process from the very beginning, as members of the consortium that won the international competition.

Architecture of Harmony and Connection

The new hall represents a harmony between nature and architecture, East and West, the old and the new. As a cultural venue of national importance, it is designed to be open and fluid.

At the heart of the project lies a central public social space, spanning two levels and seamlessly connected to the park, around which four main performance venues are organized:

Symphonic Concert Hall with 1,600 seats – the technological and acoustic pinnacle of the project.

Recital Hall with 400 seats.

-Creative Center with a studio.

-Outdoor Podium Stage, bringing art directly into the landscape.

The National Concert Hall will not be merely a cultural monument, but a catalyst for urban development. The principles guiding the project’s development focused on:

-Balancing Sustainability and Architecture: Implementing solutions that ensure the building’s longevity and rationalization of maintenance costs.-

Data-Driven Design: Every square meter is engineered to achieve superior acoustics and functionality.

The Power of Partnership and Diversity

Over 20 different companies with more than 100 designers and consultants from Serbia, the UK, Portugal, Lebanon, Germany and France worked on this project. This success is the result of a synergy between international expertise and deep knowledge of the local context and legal procedures. We believe that team diversity is the path to innovation – through the collaboration of different disciplines and cultures, we have created a space that will be a home for the arts, as well as a new symbol of modern Belgrade.

At Zabriskie, our mission remains clear: through constant learning and adapting to change, we build partnerships based on empathy and trust. For us, obtaining the building permit is not just an administrative step, but confirmation that thoughtful architecture lays the foundations for a stable and prosperous future.
